HELP US SAVE HORSES

Every horse deserves a dignified retirement. Most don’t get that. We make life better for as many as we can – and that, my friend, is because of you. Our rescued horses are permanent residents of Bright Futures Farm. They are dependent on your donation – and every dollar counts. Our journey isn’t an easy one. Retirees are just that, because of their age or a permanent disability. Most horses don’t get the chance for retirement, let alone a dignified one because they fall prey to poor decisions, uncaring humans and compromising circumstances.

Your donation helps us provide the feed, hay and professional services (vet, farrier, dentist) that help our horses stay healthy for the remainder of their golden years. You help keep them healthy and safe. You are their caregivers.

It costs $400 per horse, per month, to properly care for each horse at our facility. None of us can help them all, but you can make the difference for one with a one time donation or by becoming a monthly sponsor. No amount is too small and every donation goes directly toward the care of the seniors here at Bright Futures Farm.

DONATE

SIX WAYS TO GIVE

Safe, Secure, Tax-Deductible

1

ONE-TIME GENERAL DONATION

Bright Futures Farm receives no funding from state or federal agencies – we solely rely on YOU for support. Make a one-time donation that will help us continue to rescue horses in need and care for our permanent residents.

2

MONTHLY DONATION

The most difficult job in horse rescue is not when we save a horse from a sad, desperate situation – it’s when the emergency fades and we have to find the funds each month to care for the new horse over the long term – and that can be ten or even twenty years.

It costs, on average, $400 per horse each month to properly care for our senior permanent residents, and because Bright Futures Farm is funded primarily by donations, it is your support that makes a lasting difference in the lives of these magnificent creatures. Please consider becoming a monthly sponsor or gift a unique gift for someone you love – sponsoring one of our horses in their name. You make the difference. We do the work.

2021 DONATION DRIVE

TRUSTWORTHY AND PROVEN

Bright Futures Farm has been a trusted 501(c)(3) charity since 2000. We are accredited by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) and have been since 2014. Being accredited by TAA means that we have proven, through independent documentation, that we are a transparent organization, use our funds wisely and provide excellent care to the horses at our facility. The TAA inspects our books and our facility several times a year.

We receive no funding from state or federal agencies. We rely solely on YOUR donations for support. Your financial support provides the food, supplements and care each horse here needs to stay healthy in their golden years, and most of our seniors live well into their thirties because of the care that you help provide.

HELP US DO WHAT WE DO BEST AND GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE

Making a donation will allow us to continue to do what we do best…save horses that are suffering, abused, and neglected and provide long-term care to the very senior permanent residents that call BFF home. The horses we rescued from the hanging barn in 2016 were with us just five months. Because of their dire condition, it cost over $18,000 to make them healthy again. Medical expenses for the six horses from the hanging barn alone were over $10,000 and funds raised for their care totaled $8,500…well short of what was needed. As you can see, it is expensive to provide proper, ongoing care to not only nurse an animal back to health, but to keep it healthy in it’s golden years. Providing just feed for one senior for one day costs $9.60. To feed just one senior for a month is $268.80. Will you provide food for a day ($9.60), one week ($67.20) or one month ($268.80) for one of our very senior seniors?

Better yet, would you like to become a monthly sponsor of one of our seniors?  The DONATE button below will allow you to make a one-time donation of any amount, or sign up to be a monthly sponsor. And, please check with your employer to see if they will match your donation and DOUBLE your support. Many do.

The before and after photos of Cider on the right from the hanging barn say it all. They tell the story of what we do. Please donate now, because your gift is truly the gift of life and we need your help!

From 2016-2020, Bright Futures Farm:

Rescued 29 horses, including 6 severely abused horses rescued from a place called “the hanging barn" in 2016. (Read about the hanging barn rescues here.)

Professionally trained 16 horses to give them the foundation they need to find a permanent home.

Placed 32 horses into new homes.

Cared for 17 elderly or disabled horses on-site at Bright Futures Farm in Cochranton.

Boarded 6 additional horses because they needed a soft landing and Bright Futures Farm was full.
