Bright Futures Farm is an equine charity whose primary focus is off the track Thoroughbreds...horses that can no longer race due to disinterest or injury.  Our dedication has grown to include horses that are difficult to find homes for...older horses that are unwanted after their "useful years" are over, and older stallions that cannot be gelded due to the risk of complications.

We are always in need of foster homes.  When you foster a horse you help us save one more from harm.  Fostering expenses are tax-deductible.  If you have room, please ask us about our foster program.

There are many horses in permanent retirement at Bright Futures Farm.  They are victims of abuse, neglect or, sadly, have outlived their usefulness for an owner who no longer wanted a horse that wasn't productive.  All of these horses, as well as those waiting for homes need your support.

The cost to care for one healthy horse is approximately $250 per month.  That includes hay, grain, vet, farrier, dental, vitamins and de-worming.

Additionally, we have to meet the ever changing dietary and medical needs of the elders we have in our care.  Our Senior Residents need a variety of supplements from kelp (vitamins and minerals) to probiotics (beneficial bacteria to aid in digestion), joint supplements and cough remedies.    We currently care for seven healthy Seniors ranging in age from 26-32.  Visit our Sanctuary page to meet our Permanent Residents.

We Need your Financial Support in order to continue our work.  And, there are many other ways you can show your support as well!

Donate Adoptable horses normally remain in our care three to four months before they are ready to move into a new home.  Then we need to find the right "fit" between adopter and horse.  Seniors remain in our Sanctuary for the remainder of their years, which we hope are many.  Please help us with the daily needs of the horses in our care by making a monetary donation today.  And remember to ask your company if they have a Matching Gifts Program...that could double your donation for the horses!  We appreciate your support. You can donate on line, or via postal mail.  Receipts will be sent via email for on line contributions and via mail for mail in contributions.

That doesn't sound like much?  Think of it this way...if 100 people sign up and each person searched 20 times a day, 365 days a year, you have all raised $14,600  that year for Bright Futures Farm!

Supporting Bright Futures Farm makes a tremendous difference in the life of a horse in need.  Some of the horses that come here come from places where they were well cared for and perhaps even pampered.  But unfortunately most of them come from abusive, neglectful and/or uncaring places.  Those horses are the ones that take longer to trust us.  It takes longer for them to understand that not everyone they meet will hurt them.  And it takes longer for them to find homes because they are usually apprehensive of everyone they meet until they are convinced they are in the company of good people.  And we can't, in good conscience, send them to a new home until they trust us.

By supporting Bright Futures Farm YOU are helping these animals heal both physically and emotionally and have a viable productive and happy life.  Some of them may never have experienced that until now.  And, when businesses, corporations, foundations and individuals support Bright Futures Farm, you are giving us the resources we need to continue our work with these magnificent, proud and deserving creatures.  Every dollar you donate goes directly toward the care of the horses at our farm.  We have no paid staff.  We are all working voluntarily.  It is our passion that drives us to help the horses.

We have accomplished a great deal in the eleven years we’ve been helping horses.  We have inspired others to establish their own equine charities – some on a moderate scale like Bright Futures, and some who take one horse at a time because they have the space, resources, time and passion.

We have been recognized time and again for our rehabilitation and rescue work and our Executive Director's understanding of the Thoroughbred breed.

Because we are a recognized facility for rehabbing and transitioning horses and we are thorough and proactive in our adoptions, the demand for our resources has grown.

Using the links above whenever you can...whether it is to shop, or simply long on and search the internet...you are helping us raise the much needed funding to keep every horse healthy while they are with us.

YOU help make the difference in the lives of these horses.

Please help us continue our mission with your support today.

Thank you.
